Water Angel

I levitate above the lake . . .
black eyes search the dark . . .
in the deathly depths I divine the dim . . .
the dim of a ghostly glimmer.

Up from the deep . . . the waters stir . . .
rising . . . the whitest white . . .
the waters bend . . . the waters break . . .
so white in the moon in the black of the night.

Swan’s neck rise . . . eyes closed tight . . .
up she floats . . . to my delight . . .
glistened wing . . . face shines bright . . .
the whitest white . . . as if in the moon all night . . .
night after night.

the Water Angel . . .
